UFC Mexico still a go

UFC Mexico is still moving forward.

The UFC is still moving forward with its event in Mexico City, despite the news of unrest in the country, according to MMA Junkie. So, it looks like we'll still have some fights on Saturday, and one of my favorite fighters, Brandon Moreno, is part of the main event. He was originally supposed to face Asu Almabayev, but Almabayev had to withdraw due to injury.

Usually, a replacement favors the originally booked fighter still on the card, but it depends on how late it is.

Lone'er Kavanagh is stepping in against Moreno, and while he does have an impressive record, I think Moreno has a lot more quality experience than Kavanagh.

Plus, Moreno is coming off a really bad loss against Tatsuro Taira that I'm sure he wants to avenge.

I don't think he loses at home in Mexico.

I don't think he'll stand for two losses in a row.

So, he's my pick to win.

Check out all my picks for the main card below. Feel free to add them to your Notion template or hard copy notes.

  • Brandon Moreno def. Lone'er Kavanagh via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke), Round 4.
  • David Martinez def. Marlon Vera via Unanimous Decision.
  • Daniel Zellhuber def. King Green via Unanimous Decision.
  • Edgar Chairez def. Felipe Bunes via Submission (Guillotine Choke), Round 1.
  • Imanol Rodriguez def. Kevin Borjas via TKO (Punches), Round 2.
  • Santiago Luna def. Angel Pacheco via KO (Punch), Round 1.
