Happy New Year, everyone!

With the holidays over, and a new year beginning, you're probably easing into 2026 with goals and or things you're looking forward to.

I am too, especially with the UFC beginning its partnership with Paramount+ with UFC 324.

My hope is that we will introduce something new, and perhaps it will reinvigorate the interest of old fans in the sport with a fresh presentation. It helps that it'll be a lot easier and cheaper to watch (fingers crossed).

Still, that's a few weeks away.

That doesn't mean you have to sit around and wait for the UFC. Remember, UFC is not MMA; they're just a promotion in the sport that features a lot of great fights and fighters. Probably the best in the world.

But, they all start somewhere. And the places and promotions where they start are already holding events.

Like, Fusion Fight League.

They're airing some great MMA and bareknuckle content this weekend.

I spoke to two fighters on the card.

One-half of the MMA main event, Tyler Smith, who expressed his dream of getting to a place in the sport where a lot of his training partners already are.

Or, Bryant Acheson, who found his niche in combat sports in bare-knuckle boxing. He's building an undefeated record in the sport and sees a BKFC title in his future, as long as he stays active.
