The well of fighters is plentiful.

I know because I'm fortunate enough to interview up-and-coming and veteran fighters over at Spectation Sports.

But week four of Dana White's Contender Series seems to have lost the steam it had when it began its 10th season. It's crazy that it's been around that long, but its longevity and overall events are proof enough that fighters are plentiful in the sport.

And they're being farmed.

UFC PI in Mexico

If you remember, when the first episode of the new season aired, I wrote about two fighters whom I interviewed that I knew would win their bouts.

They did, but they both didn't get contracts.

Abe Alsaghir, won his fight the best way he could against Fabrizio Escarrega. Escarrega wasn't only a hard puzzle for Alsaghir; he was for me too since I hadn't really seen any of his fights. The only thing I knew was that he trained at the UFC PI in Mexico.

As soon as the fight started, I could tell he was a problem. Alsaghir saw (and felt) that too, which is why he won the way he did.

It was the only way he could. (More on that here.)

But the way they mentioned the UFC PI information on the broadcast has been repeating itself.

Silvestre Sanchez was the underdog against Liam McCracken in last night's event. But as soon as the fight began, he occupied the center of the cage and kept McCracken on his heels, even when McCracken tried to push back.

He had a few near submission finishes before the finish came in the final round from strikes on the feet.

Not only did he win the fight, but he won a contract.

But don't take my word for it.

Even on their own preview piece, the UFC mentions, "Part of the next wave of Mexican talent training at the UFC PI in Mexico City."

I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more Mexican fighters in the remaining weeks of the season.

So, you'd be wise to start taking note of their names.
